3rd Annual Spirit Night Photo Gallery

The Staten Island campus hosted the 3rd Annual Spirit Night sponsored by the Department of Student Life on October 27th in the Campus Center Gym. The event is coordinated by Student Life and the Queens Athletic Department. The Department of Student Life has created a campus tradition to promote campus spirit to support St. John's University athletic teams. The purpose is to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere in which students, faculty, administrators, and alumni feel a stronger sense of connectedness to St. John's University and St. John's University Athletics. Approximately 200 St. John's, Staten Island students and 40 alumni attended the event in addition to 80 students from the Queens campus that consisted of the athletic team, the cheerleaders, and the St. John's University Band. Additionally, 20 members of the Star of the Sea’s basketball team from Belfast joined us for the festivities along with students with the College Advantage Program. Highlights from the event include a scrimmage with the St. John’s University basketball team, a dance performance by Caution Dance Team, a step show by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., organization president’s 3-point contest, lemonade to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and spirit giveaways such as t-shirts, megaphones, pennants, tickets to Six Flags, and gift certificates to the Campus Bookstore.
